Welcome to the introductory web, Understanding Fiction, for VCCS Litonline. Everyone enjoys sharing or reading a good story. Storytelling is a type of literature called fiction. Fiction is one of the major literary genres.

"Fiction" is a familiar term for stories that come from our imaginations or that are told with imaginative flourishes to make them interesting to others. As a literary term, fiction usually refers to narratives that present characters in a time of crisis. Fiction can be in the form of novels or short stories.
