Acknowledgement This website includes summaries, study questions, and commentary for each segment of Sophocles ancient drama; these notes are based on work submitted by my English 112 class from Summer, 2002.  My thanks to this class who, to my surprise, enthusiastically recommended that we read this ancient play.  They rose to the challenge set by their classmates to read, understand, and appreciate the poetic and dramatic features of Antigone.
