Unit 2 - Drama

Classroom Section:

1. Go to VCCSLITONLINE and work through "Understanding Drama." When you are asked to open a word processor and respond to a question or prompt, do so and save your responses. Print them out and bring them to class on Monday, October 5.

2. Sometime during our discussion of The Glass Menagerie (October 5-October 9), go to VCCSLITONLINE and explore "The Glass Menagerie" web. Select one of the topics for writing, and complete the prewriting activities. You will be required to turn in your responses when you turn in your paper on this play.

*The paper is due Friday, October 16.

3. Go to VCCSLITONLINE and work through the "Tragedy" web THROUGH the material on Oedipus the King. Complete the writing assignment for this play (about 350 words) and bring it to class to turn in on Wednesday, October 21.

4. During our discussion of Oedipus, return to "Tragedy" and continue working through the material on Shakespeare. Select one of the "Topics for Writing" and complete a 350-word paper to be turned in on Wednesday, October 28.

Online Section:

1. Go to VCCSLITONLINE and work through "Understanding Drama." When you are asked to open a word processor and respond to a question or prompt, do so and save your responses to a single file. Email the file to me by 9 a.m., Wednesday, October 7.

2. Go to VCCSLITONLINE and work through the "Tragedy" web UP THROUGH the material on Oedipus the King. Do NOT do the suggested writing assignment.

3. Go to VCCSLITONLINE and the module titled "Oedipus the Wreck." Work through this module, but do not do the writing assignments.

4. Go to VCCSLITONLINE and the Discussion Forum on Oedipus. Select one of the Posting Options or another student's response and post your comments. Complete this assignment by Wednesday, October 21.

5. Return to the "Tragedy" web and work THROUGH the section on Shakespeare.
